We are a conservative Christian home schooling community that seeks to support families who have chosen to educate at home. Our diverse group reflects a variety of Christian faiths, but we work together with mutual respect to provide both social and educational opportunities.
Our parent-led co-op classes are offered in two semesters, one in the fall and one in the spring. The classes are a mixture of academic and non-academic oriented topics, but none are designed to replace a quality home curriculum. We encourage all of our families to be compliant with the homeschooling guidelines in Texas.
While our co-op has traditionally met in La Vernia, we have been offered a temporary 'home' in Floresville while our host church is being remodeled. For 2013 we will be meet at Oak Hills Community Church which is located at 90 Eagle Creek Ranch Boulevard, Floresville, TX 78114.
We meet on Mondays, from 8:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Attendance at the 8:45 chapel is mandatory for all members. There are four classes in a day--three 55-minute classes after chapel and one after a lunch break. Families have the option of leaving after the third class or staying for lunch and participating in the fourth class which ends at 2 P.M. Parents must bring their own children to co-op and remain on site the entire time.
The Fall semester will meet for 12-consecutive weeks beginning on Sept.9th. Applications for membership for the Fall semester must be received before Aug.9th, 2013. To apply for membership in our co-op, please contact Beth Carter at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up an interview.
Since many families cannot make the commitment that co-op requires but would still like to interact with other home schoolers, our fellowship group offers year-round opportunities for park days, mom's nights out, and field trips among other things. Fellowship members also have the option of attending only the fourth hour of co-op to participate in P.E. and game activities. For more information on joining the fellowship group only, please contact Jewel Gleeson at email@example.com . Please note that all members of the co-op are automatically members of the fellowship group.
All adults participating in our organization must consent to and pass a background check before membership is extended.
You will find several forms on this site that you can print and fill out to register.
